Confidential Advisor, Personne de confiance.
Among proposed services, we would like to highlight the "Confidential Advisor" ("Personne de confiance" in French), which has the following role:
The role of the confidential advisers is to welcome, listen to, inform and advise any member of the university community who is experiencing difficulties in connection with their work and, at their express request and in consultation with them, to intervene with the person in question or a third party (for example, a member of the hierarchy or, more generally, a resource person). This service is available to anyone working at ULB — this includes PhD candidates and PostDocs
This service was created by the Well-Being Unit, we are simply pushing the information.
NOT for students (but open to unfunded phd candidates)
It's free, 24/7, EN/FR, with an actual professional psychologist, whether you have funding or not. For all researchers:* Completely confidential, you can even use a pseudonym; this is an external company. * Professional psychologist on the phone or in person * Deals with all problems, work-related or personnel; for prevention or heavy stuff. * Free (5/year) * Independent from ULB, no impact on HR * Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (telephone for a first contact) * FR/EN/NL * Regardless of your (non-)funded status (DO NOT say you are a student, but a working researcher, and you're good to go) * Limited, but present, support also for family members too (they should mention your work at ULB)

These are psychologists, they will not intervene but will support you. If you know that your situation requires intervention, please contact the ULB well-being unit ([email protected])
